Big Kahuna’s Water & Adventure Park

According to past visitors, Big Kahuna’s is pricey for a park of its size, but it’s also one of Destin’s best spots to take the family when you need a break from the beach. The water park is open from mid-May through August and features more than 40 attractions, including slides, water rides and the Honolulu Half Pipe with a wave simulator. You can also float through the park along its lazy river. And between September and early May – when the water rides are closed – you can still enjoy Big Kahuna’s Adventure Park, which is home to a mini-golf course and other thrill rides.

Best Things To Do in Destin, FL

Most Destin visitors come here for the beach. The gorgeous white sand competes with those at other Florida destinations farther south. However, if you stay on the beach, you’ll miss out on the other attractions. Swim in the warm emerald waters of the Gulf, take a swing on the world-class golf courses or cast a line off a pier or a boat. The activity will only help you gain a greater appreciation for Destin’s natural splendor.

Flora-Bama

One of the world’s top beach bars, The Flora-Bama Lounge is located uniquely on the Orange Beach, Alabama and Perdido Key, Florida line. This honky tonk has long been a landmark on it’s famous location. The Flora-Bama has millions of “Bamily” members that visit us from around the world who know that the reputation, love and the legend is because of them. The Flora-Bama has five stages for live music and features bands of country, rock, dance and beach music. You can relax in any of the areas and select the entertainment of your choice. If you need a little away time the Flora-Bama has several beach-front bars where you can sip on a famous Bushwacker and enjoy the beautiful sunsets on the water. Orange Beach Dolphin Cruises

Head to The Wharf and hop aboard the Sunny Lady for a scenic cruise in search of dolphins on Orange Beach’s favorite boat. The Sunny Lady’s spacious rooftop deck and climate-controlled cabins provide plenty of cozy seating throughout and great visibility for optimal enjoyment and plenty of photo ops. Grab some refreshments at the snack bar or just relax as the boat makes the rounds in search of bottlenose dolphins and other marine wildlife among the waves.

Gulf Sores & Orange Beach Activities

You won’t know what to do first at The Wharf in Orange Beach. For starters, the Wharf is home to one of the largest Ferris wheels in the Southeast. There are also zipline tours, laser tag, bazooka ball, and excursions from the marina. If you need a break from all that activity, sit back and enjoy live performances in the Wharf Amphitheater. Wherever you find yourself on the Wharf, there’s enjoyment, dining, and entertainment waiting

Many people vacation to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach to enjoy not only our beaches, but also bear witness to our unique nature and exotic animals. The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo is home to over 500 exotic animals including lions, tigers, primates, wolves and reptiles. You can even get close and personal with animals like kangaroos, lemurs, snakes and sloths.

Bird-lovers from across the country also flock to the Gulf Coast to enjoy the different Orange Beach and Gulf Shores birds. The Alabama Coastal Birding Trail features several bird-spotting locations including the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail, which has recently been extended and now winds more than 27 miles through Orange Beach to the pristine sands of Gulf State Park (where you will find the Pier, the perfect place to cast a line for some Gulf Shores fishing). The Branyon area is one of the last intact maritime forests in coastal Alabama and an important stopping point for millions of migrating birds each spring and fall. Keep your binoculars handy for everything from tiny hummingbirds to majestic herons

Hangout Musical Festival

Live music combined with white-sand beaches is the perfect combo for the world famous Hangout Music Festival.  Listen to three days of music ranging from grammy award winning artists to local talent who won the battle of the bands to perform on stage.

The incredible beaches of Gulf Shores are transformed into a musical wonderland where legends in rock, hip hop, music, EDM, reggae, and more crank out tunes throughout the weekend. There will be several services and activity locations within the event site, such as bars selling top-shelf booze and wine, ice cream, massages and IV drips, and beach access to help you unwind in between all that partying
